What do all of these people have in common?
Other than just being bad-ass and famous, these people share a common bond.
They're all...
...from the Midwest!
Now, you may say, "BFD, Sara. What's your point?"
My point, profane abbreviations user, is that the Midwest is underrated.
We also have philanthropists, artists and a butt-load of Nobel Peace Prize winners. I didn't mention them because I wasn't trying to show you that we're fancy and smart.
I'm trying to show you that we make cool people here, too.
Oh, but we do apologize for this one, though:

Hahahaha, this post was awesome. *Love* the Dan Quayle apology!
Stopping by from SITS, have a great Sunday!
well guess who might be joining the midwest crew!
yours truly!
:) The midwest has it's share of good people. When I was there, I couldn't get over all the pregnant 15/16 year olds.. how all the guys wanted to do was get in fights or 'cruise' the streets.
I guess Illinois and Iowa just left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to the midwest. I still like visiting, but I don't think living there is for me :)
Kellie-
Sadly, I think you'll get some of that in just about any podunk town in any part of the country. I can't speak for Iowa, but Indiana's corn and soy products welcome you!
Haha... I was trying to figure out if there was some pattern to their initials or if they all had lives as secret agents.
I got lazy and scrolled down. Good thing. ;-)
Just found your blog thanks to Nathanael and I love it!
Great post! I didn't know that a lot of them were from the midwest. Very interesting and eye-opening to how wonderful the midwest really is!
Wow, we ARE swell, now that you mention it, and I appreciate that you didn't go for the obvious and mention Michael Jackson-- and that you dutifully apologized for Dan Quayle (sadly, as if apologizing would make him go away).
damn damn damn. *not* from the midwest. :(
:) that's funny... don't you have a research paper to write?! LOL! But good job on this piece of research!
OMG I was totally in awe, had no idea all of those people were from the midwest. Just out of curiosity, what region really constitutes the MW? And yeah, ya'll lost a few points with DQ. But, hey, I'm from Texas, we've had a few losers come from down south as well. ;)
Shannon-
For this purpose, I yanked people from Illinois, Ohio, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota and, of course, Indiana.
It varies depending on who you talk to.
And I feel your pain on some of the folks from Texas!
holy crap woman, i never know what to expect from you! but you had to throw in the tom selleck...nice touch!
Interesting thing to know about these people. It's amazing what I find out when reading blogs. Thanks for sharing.
Came over via SITS. Enjoy your day.
Haha, what a great post! I was in need of a little laugh this morning!
:)
Okay, I'm checking you out because I loved the "I want to go to there" award idea you posted over at SFTC. I'm now following you because of the sweet Pee Wee Herman reference in this title. And it doesn't hurt that you're apologizing for fellow Hoosier Dan Quayle. That guy's a tool.
Hurstburst-
Welcome! I'm so glad the 30 Rock comment intrigued you and the PeeWee reference hooked you. From where in Indiana do you hail?
Haha, the last part made me laugh! I'm from the midwest too, but I live in Texas now and people just don't seem to get the whole midwest thing. People think I grew up with cows and had to cross country ski to school...while only one of those is true. No cows.
Hahaha... Love your post!
Thanks for teaching me something I didn't know!
Just stopping by from SITS to say hi!
Ha! Love the Pee-Wee Herman reference in the title! I never knew anyone used it besides my sister and me!!!
ahhhh ha ha! brilliant. you know i'm in love with john legend?! oh, you didn't? well, i am.
eh hem
i am also from the midwest
and i think i make up for dan quayle
at least a little
oh man, I was gonna guess...all great halloween costumes.
Great post and thanks for the comment on mine!
Valid point! I'm definitely a coasthugger. The closer to water I get, the more the people get me. You are an obvious exception. You get me. And I love that.
Seriously, your comments make me smile and laugh every time. I run into some real shits in this blogging world and you are far and away NOT a shit ;)
