Does this mean I'm a yuppie?

Well, I must be a grown up.

I know this for two reasons.

The first reason is that I am going to a  conference this weekend.  I am excited about this conference for the following reasons:
  • It makes me feel like a professional.  Or like I have hope of becoming a professional something.
  • It's all about sex, which is a lot more interesting than a lot of conferences.
  • I GET TO WEAR HEELS!
Given that I live all up in the mountains, I go back and forth between my snow boots, my rain boots and my tennis shoes.  I wouldn't dare wear any shoe with more than a 1/2 inch heel because I would face plant and I would die with no teeth.

This conference is in the Piedmont (for non-NCers, this means in the flatter, warmer part), so I get to put on my fancy shoes that haven't seen any action for months.  Poor things.

The other reason I am a grown up is that I am the featured blogger at SFTC!

Kelly is a rare gem.  You don't just go to the store and git her.  You gotta look for her.  And once you find her, you throw elbows and bite people to keep her.

Too graphic?

I think she'd like it.

Anyway, if you're not already following Kelly, I question your judgment because not only is she far more consistent than I am, she's pretty damn funny.  And not a little twisted.

I wish everyone a pleasant Friday and I hope you will think of me as you put on your shoes.  Even the dudes.

P.S. I just learned there is a Target near my hotel.  BEST CONFERENCE EVER.

Where is your conference at? I hope you have fun. I've never heard of a conference about sex. I came home this weekend and am so super excited to make a trip to Target! The world is so beautiful outside of Boone! Enjoy your time away from the snow globe.

Are you going to report back on what you learn at your conference?! Enjoy your high heels...no snow or ice in the Piedmont this weekend. I'm off to Target now. :)

Exactly what kind of career are you getting into? Since you're going to a sex conference, I can gurantee that it's a more exciting field than speech pathology.

Enjoy wearing those rarely-worn heels. And yes, being excited about a conference DEFINITELY means you are in the adult category.

You are a total yuppie. Or Guppie. They're interchangeable in my humble opinion.

And look at you all featured on the crib. You are like a famous person. Can I write about you next Friday at my place?

oh boy, heels! i have a hard time wearing them in general and i think i might only own three pairs total. huh.

and a conference? make you sure that while you're being a professional, you still manage to wreak some havoc ;) haha

Kelly kicked me out of her crib and sent me over here.

Nice post there about being honest or biting the bullet. We've all been there, done that.

Loved your guest post at SFTC! Only I think when I left my comment I spelled your name with an "h" on the end. Cuz I suck like that....

Have so much fun wearing heels at your conference this weekend!

I hope to hear more about this conference, I am so intrigued! I'm here from SFTC, and I'm following you, but not because she told me to, but because I *want* to! :-D

I actually love going to conferences, especially ones paid for by work. I also feel all smart and grown-up and worldly everytime I go. The best conferences are the ones that have shopping close by. Sex and Target? I guess saying "Have fun!" would be kind of redundant when I've already said "Sex and Target". - G

I adore conferences (they make me feel so grown up!) but I picked a profession where they never happen.

Poor planning = lack of heels = sadness.

Luckily my boyfriend's doing the grad school/academia thing, so I can go places with him. (And then hang around being useless. But wearing great shoes.)

Congratulations on growing up. I LOVE a good conference...I grew up this week, too, because I went on a "buying trip" for the jewelry business. Doesn't that sound fancy? Actually, I just tagged along with my husband for his Army conference, but being in Phoenix I thought "gemstones"!! And then it became a "buying trip" and now I'm a business owner with a PURPOSE. I found my purpose. And it doesn't have anything to do with my hand. Anyway, I digress. Have fun this weekend! Can't wait to hear about it!
