A dream is a wish your heart makes? Good God, I hope not.

This morning, I woke up pissed. Good and pissed.

For the longest time, I couldn't figure out why. All I knew was that I woke up in a mild to moderate funk for no apparent reason.

Then, as I stepped into the shower, I remembered. (What is it about the shower that brings that mess to the surface?)

I got married last night.

I think everyone has had that dream.

Your family and friends are all hurrying you along, trying to get you to the wedding venue. You go along with it because apparently these are plans that YOU made.

Once you get to the church, you realize something very important: you have no idea who you are marrying.

Next, usually one of two things happens: either you go along with it so you don't look stupid admitting that you don't remember your fiance, or you protest the wedding and everyone thinks you're nuts for claiming not to know your fiance.

This is where it got interesting.

Now, generally I wake up before any irreparable damage is done. 'Twas not so this time.

I was with a friend (absolutely no idea which one), heading to the church. The whole way there, I was desperately racking my brain, trying to even remember the guy's name.

Mike! His name is Mike!

Hey, it was a start.

Once we arrived at the church, we had to wait on the previous wedding to finish up and get out of the sanctuary.

While I was waiting, I decided if I called Mike, maybe I'd remember him.

So, I started flipping through the contacts on my cell phone. No Mike.

How is it possible I could have been dating someone for 2 years (don't ask me how I knew that) and agreed to marry him without even having his phone number?

Frustrated, I brought it up to my friend. She, of course, looked at me like a loon and kept trying to scoot the prior wedding participants out the door.

The actually ceremony was a blur and I don't remember it happening. However, we went right to "our house" with the rest of the wedding party afterward.

Looking at Mike's face, I had no idea who he was.

Then, he started telling a really awful story he seemed to think was hilarious.

My first thought?

Oh dear God, he's not funny!

.............aaaaaaaaand, scene.

The dreams that seem so realistic that they carry over into the next day are crazy...I haven't had one in awhile, but I hope my next one is a good one. :D

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

That is one crazy dream! I haven't had a good dream in a while now, at least not any that I can recall. :D

Wow! That is quite a vivid dream and rather scary, too! I don't usually remember a thing about my dreams, and on rare occasion that I do remember - they are usually snippets and very strange, indeed! Happy SITS Sharefest Day!!!

You know I have had that dream like FOUR times right? Are you stressed about your marital future?

I have never had that dream. Probably because I've been married for like, ever. Though sometimes I do forget his name in real life.

Mine is more like being a play and not knowing the lines or even the plot of the play. Which, is also, scarily like my life.

And hey! your blog changed clothes again!

that happened to me 11 years ago.
but it wasn't a dream.
now i'm like, shit.
who the hell are you?
well, at least we have 2 kids and a healthy mortgage to keep us anchored while we figure it out.
that sounds either really sad or really amazing.

It is so frustrating how dreams only give you half the story...even when you're having them you're guessing and you know you're "lost" and "guessing" but you're just doing the best you can!!!

I can see how that one would make you wake up in a mood!

I had a dream a couple of nights ago that people were shooting bottle rockets at me in a big empty field...I had nowhere to hide... getting married in my dream might have been better...unless I was getting married to Rosie O Donnell...

Marrying a man who is not funny is one of the worst things any woman can do to herself. No wonder you didn't have his number. Next time, run for the hills.

Don't you LOVE the feeling when you finally realize it was a dream?

A humorless husband would be a nightmare! Though it is always nice to be the slightly quicker one in the relationship. :)

Love your blog's new look!

Maybe the reason I wake up furious sometimes is because I had an angry dream. But you are right, the shower does remind you of everything first thing in the am.
