Dip it, pop it, twerk it, stop it.

I don't wake up well in the morning.

This shouldn't be too much of a surprise, but I think it provides context for the following.

So, you know when you get in your car and a song you haven't heard in "like, forever" comes on the radio? Um, don't you love that?

Most days, I stumble out of bed, doze off in the shower and blindly grasp for my favorite coffee mug (it's red with white snow flakes). When I get in the car to head to work, I screw around with my preset radio stations to find something I don't hate (Soulja Boy does not fall in that category).

Sometimes, however, I come across a song that I haven't heard in a few years and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make my morning.

It could be Tom Jones's "It's Not Unusual", "(I Love You) More Today Than Yesterday" by Spiral Staircase or Beyonce's "Check On It". It doesn't matter. The veil is lifted and I come alive! Well, at least until the song is over.

Then, because of the natural order of the universe and its desire for balance, something equally sucky has to come on to right the cosmic forces once again. So, this means that if I'm treated to Queen, I then must be subjected to Taylor Swift.

Generally, it works the other way around, too. If I can hold on through Fallout Boy or ...oh, what's that other band that gets a lot of airplay but makes me want to die? Come on, you know it! The lead singer's voice sounds like a bunch of gerbils being run through the dishwasher and all the songs sound the same... NICKELBACK! Got it!

Wait, what was I saying?

I forget, but the point is, I need to start putting more CDs in my car.
